What kind of humans are we going to be? - Tallinn April 2025
Futures of human kind
a creative workshop
What kind of humans are we going to be? Our world is more challenging than ever. The greater place of technologies in daily life, the role of artificial intelligence in various trades, climate challenges, and political conflicts, raise questions about what we want to be, stay, or become tomorrow as humans.
Combining writing and crafting, this will be a creative workshop in three parts.
- Explore.
It will start with us exploring our feelings about the future of human
kind and opening up our imagination via writing and reading in media
like fiction and poetry.
- Debate. We will then proceed on debating what our possible futures will look like.
- Create.
The third part will involve designing and crafting objects that come
from these possible futures in order to investigate them and our
emotions around them further. The texts and objects produced by
participants will be part of a Futures of humankind online exhibition.
The whole process is spread on two sessions of 3 hours, with some days in the middle for you to process the first thoughts, debates, ideas you had, and think further!

Who we are
We

future in a hands-on, creative way, i.e. by running creative and
writing workshops.
> Geneviève Genicot,
PhD, is a Belgian poet, fiction writer, writing workshop leader. She is
currently developing sound poetry pieces about our relationship with
machines : Me and my machine.
> Miguel Pascual (Spain/Ireland) explores the intersection between storytelling, technology, and speculative futures. His double background in human computer interaction and creative writing informs his practice and research in design fiction.
workshops we led in Madrid, Grenoble, Tallinn
The workshop is free
Thanks to a "Culture Moves Europe" European Union artistic mobility grant, we have been invited to Tallinn University for an artistic project combining design fiction and poetry.
This
allows us to meet experts in our fields, grow as artists, collect data
for our artistic projects, create, and even offer a workshop to share a
learning-by-doing design
fiction experience, where poetry is the tool towards reaching our
emotions.
