Souvenirs from the future - Tallinn 17 April 2025

Culture Moves Europe, c'est dix jours à Tallinn qui passent très vite, entre poésie et design fiction, rencontres artistiques, workshops organisés à l'Université de Tallinn, visites d'expos et de lieux culturels de la ville... 

 

Jeudi dernier, nous avons présenté un état des lieux de ce qui nous a amenés à Tallinn et de ce que nous y avons réalisé, notamment avec les participants à nos workshops combinant poésie et design fiction. Une façon de montrer le potentiel de cette approche multidisciplinaire pour penser des futurs désirables, alternatifs, et profondément connectés à nos émotions. Quel genre d'humains voulons-nous être?  

Bientôt, un musée digital va voir le jour pour relayer ces créations, ces mondes, ces textes qui proposent un autre futur que celui qui nous est promis, souvent de manière sombre. Nos énergies créatrices sont illimitées, à nous de les transformer sous des formes tangibles et de les faire advenir dans la réalité.

 

Au cours de ce séjour, j'ai également pu réaliser des entretiens pour mon projet Me and My Machine qui interroge notre rapport émotionnel aux machines qui nous entourent. Certaines de ces rencontres ont donné naissance à des poèmes, que j'ai pu présenter dans l'expo.

Culture Moves Europe: ten days in Tallinn that fly by, filled with poetry and design fiction, artistic encounters, workshops organised at Tallinn University, visits to exhibitions and cultural venues around the city...

Last Thursday, we presented an overview of what brought us to Tallinn and what we have achieved there, particularly with the participants in our workshops combining poetry and design fiction. It was a way of showing the potential of this multidisciplinary approach to thinking about desirable, alternative futures that are deeply connected to our emotions. What kind of humans do we want to be?

Soon, a digital museum will be created to showcase these creations, these worlds, these texts that offer a future other than the one promised to us, often in a bleak manner. Our creative energies are limitless; it is up to us to transform them into tangible forms and bring them to life.

During my stay, I was also able to conduct interviews for my project Me and My Machine, which questions our emotional relationship with the machines that surround us. Some of these encounters gave rise to poems, which I was able to present in the exhibition.
